I like Lowe's because they have a good selection of just about everything from the little stuff to the big ticket items. Much better than Home Depot for the bigger items. Their employees are always very helpful and curtious too. I have discovered Menards though and am impressed.

Always love going here. Their tools are high quality and i always spend a few hours just looking.

Ordered a fence installation. Everything seemed to be going just fine. We were told it would be about 6 weeks until installation. Fine with that. We understand there is a line of people getting them. Waited for pieces to arrive at store then scheduled for about 6 weeks out. Fine with that. We understand they need to make sure everything comes in before installers need it. Set a date and was told it would be installed in 1 day. Turned down a good paying job for that day to stay home. The day came and went, nobody showed up until 7:00 that night, looked it over and said well, too late to do anything today. Installation took three additional days (more lost work and money). Looking ok until the end when putting in gate on vinyl fence. Too big of a gap so they nailed a scrap piece of 2x4 to one side, slapped the latch on and called it good enough. Took forever to get fix done. Set date, changed plans to fit in, started my day and got a call saying they weren't going to make it that day and would be the following day. Changed plans again for the following day, still no crew. Called them up, maybe tomorrow. Absolutely ridiculous. No communication. Takes 3-4 calls to get an answer. Ordered Mid-May. Now the end of August and still not done. Neighbor wanted to see how it went. After all of the issues AFTER installation he went with someone else. After starting out 6 weeks later they spent less money and got an awesome fence installed and finished.

Stopped in last night for an artificial Christmas tree. Big sign says 25 percent off. The one I wanted was in a separate pile so I wanted to be sure it was included. Rather than drag the monster box to the front I thought I'd ask a clerk. Now to find one that didn't make eye contact then turn and walk away. Finally a man asked what I needed. I answered and he said I'd have to ask a clerk and walked away. So did I. Never to return again.

To begin, Lowe's makes Comcast look like customer service all stars. Our horror story started back in September, when we purchased over $3,000 worth of carpet from the Raymore store. During the installation, they bent our door and it's been a nightmare trying to get Lowe's to replace it. We took pictures of the damage they caused and have contacted the store more times than I can count to try and get this issue resolved. Each time, we were told someone would have to call us back, but no one ever called. After multiple calls to the store over a period of weeks, a miracle occurs and someone called back. We described what happened, sent pictures, and they said they'd call back again. Silence. So, after a few days, we begin calling the store again. Finally, after another couple weeks of trying to get the issue resolved, someone came out to look at the door. We thought maybe Lowe's did stand behind their products and services...nope. The guy put soap on the door hinges and said that fixed the issue. Nope again, the door still doesn't open and close properly, because it's BENT, which we pointed out again while he was there. So, we continue to call the store and after another week or so, they finally agree the door needs to be replaced and will send someone out to replace it Two weeks later, no one has been out to replace the door. We've called the store about every other day, and each time they tell us someone will be out tomorrow, always tomorrow with them. The lesson here? Stay away from Lowe's. We've been long time customers of this store, but this experience has been miserable. Everyone we've dealt with in this process has been truly incompetent, inept, and provided substandard customer service. Do not trust Lowe's, their installation services, and surely not their customer service department, if you can even call it that.
